FCU Programming and Creative Challenge Highlights Interdisciplinary Innovation and AI-Powered Creativity

The 2025–26 Programming and Creative Challenge, organized by the Information Technology Learning Center of Feng Chia University’s iSchool, was held on May 30. Students from 12 departments—including Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical and Computer-Aided Engineering, Statistics, Chinese Literature, Chemical Engineering, Cooperative Economics and Social Entrepreneurship, and Communications Engineering—formed interdisciplinary teams to participate. An award ceremony was held on June 12, with FCU President and iSchool Dean Wei Wang presenting awards to the winners.

The Chinese Language Center of Feng Chia University, in collaboration with the Taipei Feng Chia University Alumni Cultural Foundation and co-organized by the Library, hosted the First “Light Knowledge, Little Diamond” AI-Assisted Popular Knowledge Video Storytelling Competition. An award ceremony and exhibition of winning works were held at the Library on June 25. Guests included Yao-Jen Hsiao, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; Shu-Yuan Chou, Chairperson of the Taipei Feng Chia University Alumni Cultural Foundation; alumni Yu-Hsien Lu and Chun-Tang Chou, who joined to celebrate students’ interdisciplinary achievements combining AI tools, language skills, and professional knowledge.

Designed specifically for first-year students and aimed at encouraging interdisciplinary learning, Feng Chia University’s Exploration Course is presenting its end-of-semester exhibition, “Interdisciplinary Exploration Through Games and Creativity,” from June 29 to August 31 in the first-floor lobby of the Library. Organized by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the exhibition features 11 student-produced podcast programs and 11 thematic posters. Topics range from people-centered transportation and housing culture to interpersonal relationships and mental health, reflecting students’ observations of contemporary social issues.
Creativity Takes Center Stage at FCU’s 8th English Presentation Contest

The 8th Feng Chia University English Presentation Contest, organized by the Foreign Language Center and sponsored by the Feng Chia University Alumni Educational Foundation of Taipei, successfully concluded this year. The competition provides students with a platform to showcase their English proficiency and creativity while partnering with alumni-owned businesses to connect classroom learning with industry expectations
TIEFF Director Talks at Feng Chia University Explore Indigenous Transitional Justice Through Film

The 13th Taiwan International Ethnographic Film Festival (TIEFF) 2026, themed Post/Industrial Myths, focused on cultural memory and social issues arising from industrial transformation and toured venues across Taiwan from April to June. At Feng Chia University, the event was jointly organized by the Center for Austronesian and Cultural Sustainability Studies, the Library, and the Indigenous Student Resource Center, featuring three film screenings on May 14, 19, and 25, followed by discussions with filmmakers and scholars.

As the Dragon Boat Festival approached, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Feng Chia University hosted a cultural classics lecture on June 2 in the B2 Lecture Hall of the Library. Titled“What Does Qu Yuan Teach Us?”, the event featured Professor Chi-Pang Ho, University Advisor and Distinguished Lecturer, who guided students and faculty in reexamining Qu Yuan’s character, core values, and enduring influence on Chinese culture and literary traditions.
